This is a huge moment in my business journey!! I am checking off a bucket list item by shooting my first ever Charleston, South Carolina Engagement session! To some people I probably sound a bit obsessed with my happy place 🤷‍♀️🤷‍♀️🤷‍♀️ but once you've been to this charming city you'll understand! I love my happy place and I was over the moon excited to hang out with these two! 💕😍 I am so thankful for @ccovey15 and @rachelcroyle giving up an entire evening after work to hang out with total strangers!! Better late then never right?? Sorry this #weddingwednesdayswithem post is so late today! Technical difficulties caused me to upload the photos to the blog 5 different times today!! I finally got it to work and by that I mean James got it work 🙈🙈🙈 But I can't wait to share this wedding day with you!! @kay_kayb23 and @d1m8b had such a beautiful wedding and we were so happy to be a part of it. I have known Kayla for only a little bit now but I have enjoyed getting to know this sweet family! They could not have picked a more beautiful day for their wedding!! Even though it was a hot one, everyone had such a good spirit throughout the day! I can’t wait to share more from their wedding day soon!! So James and I had been keeping a little secret!! We had our very first Charleston, SC Engagement Session!! Remember when James & I visited The Biltmore in Asheville, NC for our good friends’ proposal?? We met this sweet couple while exploring downtown!! Y’all we don’t normally talk to strangers. However, James just had this feeling that we needed to meet these two and I’m so glad that I went along with his “gut feeling”! We went extremely out of our comfort zone, introduced ourselves, exchanged phone numbers and just hoped they wouldn’t think we were weird! Haha We were SO EXCITED when they wanted to do a session with us while we were on vacation here in Charleston, SC! When I say that I am in my happy place this week that is an understatement. I have dreamt of this very session since we started this business and was so looking forward to checking this off my bucket list!! 😭😭😭🥰 We have visited Charleston, SC for years but @ccovey15 and @rachelcroyle had some spots in mind for the shoot so we let them tour us through their beautiful city! They shared some Charleston classic locations that meant a lot to them and some places we’ve never seen!! After the shoot we were treated to an impeccable dinner at @elistable We had never been to this restaurant but it’s quickly become a “once every trip” stop because the service and food were out of this world! I am so grateful for these new fiends that shared their Charleston with us! I just love the southern elegance that is Downtown Charleston. *WARNING* This one is a little deep for hump day but I have a feeling someone other than myself needs this reminder today! 😘🥰There are days where I forget this little quote. I am all about planning, details, very type A... So with this personality usually comes with a more “in charge” mindset. 🤔😅🤷🏻‍♀️There have been MANY times in my life where we(James and I) are our in a situation where we had nothin to do but rely on God. 😅😅😅 Often times I try to decide what my future looks like by fantasizing different scenarios. Hopefully I’m not the only one who does this?? Comment below with a 🙋🏻‍♀️ if this you too!! 🤔😅 I’ve done this for years now and so far, every scenario I’ve dreamt up has been WRONG. And I’m so grateful for that!! So for those who are worried about their future or a major decision in life, be reminded that God knows exactly where you are going to be 5 years from now. He is WITH YOU right now and is willing to get you where you are supposed to be if you just let go of the controlling mindset! 🥰😊💕 I’m not the best example of “letting go” but every time I let go of my scenarios of probability and just cry out to God for answers, He comes through in ways I NEVER imagined. 😍😍😍 So today I want to encourage all my fellow worriers that no matter what happens in life, God has your back and “where God guides, He provides” 💕💕💕 Sign: @altardstate Rock: Found randomly during a one of my sessions!! If you ever have trouble getting through the day just tell yourself that once you get through the day you’ll get pink lollipop! 😂😂🍭🍭Ok so maybe that won’t work for you but the same principle applies!! Treat yourself occasionally whether that is 30 minutes of reading your favorite book, a sweet treat, or a girls night! I know it helps me to have something to look forward to if my work week is looking like it will never end.... Also if you have a flower girl that needs some motivation to finish up some photos, a pink lollipop should do the trick!! 😂🍭🍬
I’m adding a little pretty to this #weddingwednesdayswithem post because this one is sensitive topic that I’ve been wanting to share for a little while. As a wedding photographer I have witnessed a lot on wedding days. Wedding guests can be so wild some times but I have a more laid back personality in general so maybe it’s just me?? 😅 😅 😅 This post is for all my newly engaged couples planning their wedding day and for wedding guests!
